Women's basketball schedule released

The IU women's basketball team will compete in eight nationally televised games this season, the IU Athletics department announced Monday.

The team's schedule will feature 29 regular season games, including 15 regular season home games.

The season will begin with two exhibition games at home before the Hoosiers open the regular season Nov. 13 at Memphis. The Hoosiers' regular season home opener comes up two days later against in-state rival IUPUI.

The 18-game Big Ten season opens Dec. 6 at Michigan State, with the home opener on Jan. 3 against the same Spartans team.

The Hoosiers play each Big Ten team twice except for Purdue and Minnesota. IU plays its only game against the rival Boilermakers on New Years Eve in West Lafayette, with its lone home meeting against the Golden Gophers on Feb. 21.

The Hoosiers' final regular season game will take place on senior day on Feb. 28 against Penn State.

“We are very excited about our eight games that will be televised nationally,” Coach Legette-Jack said in a press release. “I think it will give our fans nationwide a chance to see our team play some great competition and further showcase the strength of the Big Ten Conference.”
