A goal with less than 15 minutes to go from Akron midfielder Michael Nanchoff propelled the Zips past IU in a 1-0 contest Friday.
The game was very defensively-oriented, with little action before Nanchoff's goal.
It is the Hoosiers' second loss to a ranked opponent. They are 0-2-1 against ranked teams thus far this season, with a 2-2-1 record overall. They will finish out their play at the Akron tournament against Florida International on Sunday.
