mtvU names WIUX in top 50

IU’s student-run radio station, WIUX LP 99.1 FM, has survived the first round of elimination to be in mtvU’s  top 50 college radio stations.

The top 50 stations are competing for mtvU's College Radio Woodie Award for the best college radio station. The winner will be announced Nov. 18 on MTV.

College students across the country can decide which station they think is best and then vote at the contest’s Web site.

For the contest, mtvU is working with the Web site RateMyProfessors.com, and students can visit http://radiowoodie.ratemyprofessors.com/ to vote for which station they like best.

The top 25 stations will be announced Sept. 29.
