Awards show honors Def Jam Records

The sixth annual VH1 Hip Hop Honors will air Tuesday at 9 p.m.

The awards show celebrates the 25th anniversary of Def Jam Records, one of the most influential and popular hip hop labels in music.

The show will also pay tribute those who helped shaped the label including Russell Simmons, Shawn “Jay-Z” Certer, Chris Lighty and Kevin Liles.

Also performing and presenting during show are Eminem, Mary J. Bilge, Kid Rock, Jimmy Fallon, DMX and more.

The show will take place at Brooklyn Academy of Music at the Howard Gilman Opera House in Brooklyn, New York.
