Deadline nears for student-run label contest

Entries from student-run labels for the ninth annual Independent Music Awards must be postmarked by Friday.

The awards are an international program that promotes both independent and student-run record label releases, music genres, music videos and designs.

Entries have come from more than 70 countries and winners include Drexel University’s MAD Dragon Records, University of Colorado/Denver’s CAM Records and more.

The panel of music industry judges includes Zooey Deschanel, Pete Wentz, Hanson as well as music supervisors from MTV as well as talent buyers and music journalists. Submissions should include releases, band merchandise, packaging and promotional materials.
