Musical to TV: Cast of ‘Glee’ glistens in spotlight

The glittery cast of “Glee” and its catchy covers of hit pop songs have made their way into our TV-loving hearts this season, and the show continues to be one of the most highly anticipated on FOX.

This musical comedy series is based around a show choir, also known as the “glee club,” and the struggles among the students and teachers.

Although there have been many mixed reviews about the series’ plots and the stereotypical characters, many critics and “gleeks” are singing praises for the cast’s renditions of show tunes and chart hits.

Each week, the show releases the songs showcased on the air, and the singles are rapidly climbing the Billboard and iTunes charts.

With the show’s sudden outburst of popularity, I am excited to see what the creators of this version of “High School Musical” will do with its new hit show.

The fact that the show is a musical comedy is, in itself, a reason to be surprised and intrigued to watch the show.

However, the covers of “Don’t Stop Believin’” and “Somebody to Love” are magical, as are the sometimes-comical moments not usually seen on TV.

Not only does the show have a great collection of fun music, the cast is a group of highly talented actors and singers including Matthew Morrison, Jane Lynch and Cory Monteith.

Although Lynch, who’s starred in films such as “Role Models” and “The 40 Year-Old Virgin,” has yet to have a solo in the show, I am waiting patiently for her to take center stage with the students.

To reflect the show’s musical popularity, the cast of “Glee” is set to perform the National Anthem at the World Series this year.

In addition, the cast will debut their album, “Glee The Music: Volume 1,” which is set to release Nov. 3, along with a concert tour scheduled after the airing of its first season.

If you have yet to experience the show’s bouncy tone and gleeful energy, it airs at 9 p.m. Wednesdays on FOX. You will be a “gleek” before you know it.
