Fourteen schools applied for the 2010 Indiana Arts Commission Arts in Education program grants. Eleven of the schools received grants, which must be used for arts projects that take place during the schedule school day.
Schools could request grants of up to $5,000. They're supposed to match the final grant amount with fundraising and donations.
The following schools received grants: Batesville Community School Corporation, Brown County Schools. Dickingson Intermediate Fine Arts Academy, Greater Clark County Special Education Coop, Greencastle Community School Corporation, Harrison Hill Academy, Nicholson Performing Arts Academy at IPS #70, North Adams Community Schools, Northwood Elementary School, The Project School and Washington Catholic Schools.
