Hoosiers face tough road ahead

The saying goes, you take it one game at a time. But after IU opened the Big Ten slate 3-4, it can’t hurt to take a look at the Hoosiers’ last 11 games — seven of which come against the league’s top five opponents.

1/30 – AT Illinois (12-8)
    •    Three-game series win streak for Illinois
    •    IU’s last win in Champaign: 2/7/2008
    •    Last 10 at the other Assembly Hall: 2-8

2/4 – Purdue (16-3)
    •    Purdue won last year’s meeting
    •    IU has won last eight home games versus Purdue, dating back to Feb. 9, 1999

2/7 – AT Northwestern (14-5)
    •    Wildcats have 2-game series winning streak
    •    IU’s last win in Evanston: 85-82 on Feb. 23, 2008
    •    Hoosiers 6-4 in last 10 at Northwestern, but 1-4 since 2003

2/10 – Ohio State (14-6)
    •    Buckeyes hold 3-game series winning streak
    •    Ohio State won in Bloomington last January, 93-81
    •    IU last beat OSU on Feb. 26, 2008, 72-69

2/13 – AT Wisconsin (16-4)
    •    Badgers hold 4-game win streak versus Hoosiers and have won 10 of last 13
    •    Wisconsin has won last eight meetings in Madison
    •    Last IU road victory in series was Jan. 25, 1998

2/16 – Michigan State (17-3)
    •    Spartans own 3-game series win streak
    •    Last IU victory was Feb. 16, 2008
    •    MSU has won four of last five games, but IU 7-3 at home since 1999

2/20 – AT Minnesota (12-7)
    •    IU defeated Minnesota on Jan. 17, following three straight losses to the Golden          Gophers
    •    Hoosiers’ last win in Minneapolis also came on Jan. 17, but in 2008
    •    IU is 2-8 in last 10 trips to Minnesota

2/25 – Wisconsin
    •    IU has dropped last two at home versus Wisconsin
    •    Following a Feb. 1977 defeat, IU ran a 22-game home win streak versus the                  Badgers until 2002 (2-4 since)

2/28 – AT Iowa (8-12)
    •    Hoosiers were dropped by the Hawkeyes on Sunday
    •    IU last won in Iowa City on Jan. 2, 2008
    •    IU is 1-4 in last five meeting at Iowa, 3-10 since 1995

3/3 – AT Purdue
    •    Purdue holds two-game home win streak versus IU
    •    The Hoosiers last defeated the Boilermakers in West Lafayette on March 1, 2006
    •    IU is 4-6 in last 10 road games versus Purdue

3/6 – Northwestern
    •    IU lost to Northwestern at home by 22 last February
    •    The Hoosiers had previously won 35 consecutive in Bloomington versus the                  Wildcats dating back to 1964
