School of Music offers Q & A session with 2 musicians

The Jacobs School of Music will sponsor an opportunity to talk with two famous musicians 6 p.m. Thursday in the Musical Arts Center.

David N. Baker, professor and chair of the department of jazz studies, will be joined by Quincy Jones for the informal question and answer session. The event is free and open to the public. No tickets are required.

Jones is in Bloomington to receive an honorary doctor of music degree at undergraduate commencement Saturday. The commencement ceremony will be split in two sessions, one at 10 a.m. and the second at 3 p.m. in Assembly Hall. Jones will speak at both ceremonies, along with IU president Michael McRobbie and two student speakers.
