WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

After spending all but three games of her freshman year injured, sophomore Jasmine Davis will be leaving the IU basketball program.

The NCAA has granted Davis a medical noncounter petition, and she will still receive financial assistance for the 2010-11 school year because she is leaving due to injury.
In Davis’ three games during the 2009-10 season, she averaged 2.0 minutes per game. She failed to score any points, but did record two rebounds.

BASEBALL

Alex Dickerson’s offseason continues to be filled with honors, as the outfielder has made the USA Baseball 2010 National Team.

Dickerson was one of 22 players to make the roster and is the third Hoosier ever to be selected for the team. He is also the first Big Ten player to make the team since former Ohio State and current New York Yankee outfielder Nick Swisher played for Team USA in 2001.

WATER POLO

The water polo team was honored for the players’ academic success, as seven members were named to the Collegiate Water Polo Association Women’s Varsity Scholar-Athlete Team for the 2010 season. Athletes were selected based on three categories.

The first, and highest, honor was the Outstanding level, which included grade point averages of 3.71 or higher. Only one athlete, Kelsey Campbell, qualified.

Campbell has received the Outstanding level for three consecutive seasons.
Three athletes were mentioned in the Superior range, having a GPA from 3.41 to 3.70, and three others made the Excellent level, with GPAs from 3.20 to 3.40.
