VOLLEYBALL

Sophomore Lindsay Enterline spent the 2009-10 season on the sidelines due to a knee injury and will not take the court this season either. However, she is not ending her career as a student-athlete.

Instead, she will be suiting up for the women’s volleyball team this fall.

“We are excited to have Lindsay join the volleyball family,” Coach Dunbar said. “She has already been in the IU family for two years, but this will be a new direction for her. In the time I’ve spent with Lindsay, I’ve been very impressed with her focus, passion and love for Indiana and am excited to start training her during preseason.”

Enterline played in 26 games during her freshman campaign and averaged 1.5 points per contest and .400 shooting from downtown.

Enterline was a four-time letterwinner in volleyball at Heritage High School, and earned all-conference honors four times, and all-area team honors three times. The 6-foot outside hitter left Heritage as the school’s all-time leader in attack percentage, blocks, digs and kills.

TRACK AND FIELD

The IU women’s track and field team had a very successful year, led by strong performances from the NCAA runner-up in the 800-meter, senior Molly Beckwith.

However, their success was not limited purely to athletic means, as they also found academic success. The Hoosiers were named an All-Academic Team by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

Eight Big Ten teams were honored overall, with Penn State bringing home the Outdoor Track and Field Scholar Team of the Year award as well as All-Academic Team. Of the eight teams, the Hoosiers grade-point average of 3.27 was only bested by Minnesota’s 3.39 GPA.

Iowa, Illinois, Ohio State, Purdue and Wisconsin were also honored by the USTFCCCA as All-Academic Teams.
