Chappell named to Allstate Good Works Team

Football at Western Kentucky

Senior quarterback Ben Chappell picked up his second award this week as he was named to the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team.

The award recognizes 22 football players across the nation that exemplify off-the-field achievements and selfless contributions.

Chappell was noted for helping to organize the team’s community initiatives such as visiting Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis and welcoming the Boys and Girls Club to Memorial Stadium each season.

In the classroom, Chappell earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting in June and is working toward an MBA in business systems and accounting.

Last season, former Hoosier defensive end Jammie Kirlew was also named to the Good Works Team.

This is Chappell’s second award of the week. He earned the Big Ten’s Offensive Player of the Week award Monday, following a 366-yard, 3-touchdown performance against Western Kentucky.
