Open to any IU student, Union Board will be holding non-traditional casting for their Fall musical. Auditions will be in the Georgian Room in the Indiana Memorial Union on Sept. 7 and 8 at 8, 9 or 10 p.m. Students should arrive 15 minutes early.
‘The Wiz’ is an adaptation of “The Wizard of Oz”. It is retold by integrating African American culture into the story. The original Broadway production opened in 1975. The success of the production laid the foundation for other all black cast musicals.
Audition callbacks are scheduled for Sept. 9.
The show is scheduled to open Oct. 28 and 29 in Bloomington’s Buskirk-Chumley Theater.
