Bruin, Haverly earn weekly conference honors

The IU men’s soccer and women’s volleyball teams each pulled off significant wins this weekend, and individual performers from both squads have been recognized for their efforts.

Volleyball sophomore outside hitter Jordan Haverly and soccer junior forward Will Bruin were named Big Ten Player of the Week on Monday in their respective sports.

Haverly earned the award for leading IU to a pair of victories this weekend against top-30 programs, including a four-set win against No. 4 Penn State. Haverly posted 21 kills against the three-time defending national champion Nittany Lions on Saturday.

This was Bruin’s third weekly award of the season. He tallied three goals in two games, including a pair of goals against No. 11 Creighton on Saturday. The Hoosiers won 3-2.
Bruin leads the Hoosiers with 10 goals this season.
