Auditorium to present ‘A Chorus Line’

FROM IDS REPORTS

The hit Broadway musical, “A Chorus Line,” will come at 8 p.m. today at the IU Auditorium.

Tickets are on sale at the box office and wwww.iuauditorium.com from $20 to $41 for students and from $38 to $60 for the general public.

The musical is about a group of hopeful actors and actresses auditioning for a Broadway show, and dealing with the difficulties that accompany them on their climb to the top.

“The cast tells their stories of what brought them to the life of an actor, and vying for a few limited ensemble roles in a big show,” Auditorium Director Doug Booher said.

The performers for the play came from across the country and were selected through a national audition, Booher said.

Fittingly enough, four Jacobs School of Music alumni will be joining NETWorks Presentations’ touring company in the show. Saxophonists Trevor Davis (‘08) and Sean Imboden (‘06), and trumpeters Eric Dickson (‘05)and Chris Imhoff (‘08) are all part of the performance’s orchestra pit.

“While the orchestra is in the pit, it is a significant part of the production as it accompanies the cast for all of the musical numbers,” said Maria Talbert, auditorium events coordinator.
