Former IU men’s basketball player A.J. Moye was hospitalized Thursday after a suffering a stroke, as reported by Reuters.
Moye, 28, was rushed to the hospital Tuesday after colliding with a Frankfurt Skyliners teammate in practice Monday. Although Moye continued to practice, his stepfather noticed the guard speaking irregularly. Moye was brought to the Frankfurt hospital after abnormal behavior was detected during a Tuesday shootaround.
Skyliners spokesman Thomas Nawrath told Reuters that Moye has been moved from intensive care, but he will remain hospitalized for an unknown period of time.
Moye played in the Hoosiers’ 2002 National Championship game against Maryland. He averaged 10 points and six rebounds per game as a senior in the 2003-04 season, both career-highs.
