Indiana Arts Commission accepting grant applications from Hoosier artists

The Indiana Arts Commission (IAC) announced Tuesday that Hoosier artists in areas of dance, theater, literature, music, and folk arts will have until Feb. 14, 2011 to submit applications for the Individual Artist Program grant.

Applicants must be an Indiana resident for at least one year prior to the date of the application and plan to remain in the state for the full grant period.

Applicants can apply for up to $2,000 from the IAP grant, which is intended to assist the artist in specific project-related costs.

All projects must be completed between July 1, 2011 and June 30, 2012.

Last year, a total of 150 artists applied for IAP grants and 52 projects received IAC funding.

An explanation of the IAP program, guidelines for the grant, and the application can be found on the IAC website,  www.in.gov/arts/individualartistprogram.htm.

Application workshops have also been planned. Artists can find a complete listing of dates, times and locations posted on the website.
