IU struggled in the Las Vegas Classic leading up to the Christmas holiday. The Hoosiers dropped both games in Sin City, falling 67-61 to Northern Iowa and 78-69 to Colorado. Against Colorado, IU trailed by 19 points with 11 minutes remaining, but trimmed the lead to three with 1:33 left. Colorado scored seven consecutive points to put the game away.

Nittany Lions:
Penn State has played once since Dec. 12, and that was a 74-64 home loss to a 6-5 Maine team. Maine shot 53 percent from the field and 58 percent (11-for-19) from the 3-point line. Penn State was led by 26 points from Battle but trailed by double digits for most of the second half.
