‘Contemporary Masters’ to showcase modern masterpieces

Contemporary dance masterpieces from the 1980s will be performed by IU dance majors in the upcoming performance, “Contemporary Masters,” the annual faculty and guest artist concert.

The performance is presented by the Kinesiology and Theatre and Drama departments.
The performance features the works of world-renowned choreographers Bella Lewitzky, Donald McKayle and David Parsons, as well as works by IU faculty members.

Talks before the concert will give the audience access to an intimate conversation with Parsons on Friday and a panel of scholars speaking about Lewitzky and Satie on Saturday.

“Masters” begins at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the Ruth N. Halls Theatre. There is also a family matinée performance at 1:30 p.m. Saturday and a 7:30 p.m. performance.

Advance tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children, seniors and IU students with ID.
Tickets at the door are $25 for adults and $15 for children, seniors and IU students with ID.

Saturday’s family matinée is $10 for adults and $5 for children and seniors. The family matinée features a shorter program.
