Songwriter Showcase continues at Player’s Pub

The Player’s Pub continues its Bloomington Songwriter Showcase at 8 p.m. Monday for songwriters and music-lovers alike.

The pub, which is located at 424 S. Walnut St., started sponsoring this event after Stella and Jane band members Suzette Weakley and Bobbie Lancaster wanted to bring their showcase experience back to their hometown.

Along with the help of pub owner Greg Hill, the Showcase now usually features four musicians, each of whom are given the chance to perform a song. Songwriters from surrounding areas to as far as Boulder, Colo. have performed.

The showcase is scheduled to end at 10 p.m., but performers may stay longer and collaborate with one another. Admission is free.
