Hoosiers travel to Northeast for weekend matches

The No. 46 IU men’s tennis team will be in Cambridge, Mass., this weekend for matches against Harvard and William & Mary.

The Hoosiers (4-2) will take on No. 64 Harvard at 5 p.m. Friday and will face the No. 75 Tribe at 4 p.m. Saturday.

IU, coming off a 1-1 weekend in California, will play two nationally ranked doubles teams against Harvard. The Crimson’s lineup features the No. 46 tandem of Alistair Felton and Andy Nguyen and the No. 50 duo of Christo Schultz and Jonathan Pearlman.

IU junior Stephen Vogl and sophomore Josh MacTaggart played No. 1 doubles for the Hoosiers last weekend and will presumably square off against one of these ranked teams. Senior Santiago Gruter and junior Jeremy Langer have recently been playing No. 2 doubles.

The weekend’s matches will give IU a chance to move past the 7-0 sweep it suffered at the hands of No. 2 Southern California last Saturday. That loss marked the first time this season the Hoosiers lost the doubles point.
