Carol Burnett to speak at IU Auditorium

Award-winning actress and best-selling author Carol Burnett will be speaking April 18 at the IU Auditorium.

“Laughter and Reflection with Carol Burnett: A Conversation with Carol where the Audience Asks the Questions” is the IU Department of Theatre and Drama’s 2011 Ralph L. Collins Memorial Lecture, which starts at 8 p.m. April 18.

Tickets go on sale today.

Her Q&A session is based on the banter between Burnett and the audience that began on her show, “The Carol Burnett Show,” which ran for 11 years, averaging 30 million viewers per week. The show also received 25 Emmy awards.

After the show concluded, Burnett acted on Broadway, other television specials and authored books. The IU Auditorium appearance allows fans to interact with Burnett and hear of her experiences in life, entertainment and theater.
