Concert to benefit local centers

The Business Careers in Entertainment Club and Union Board have come together to present the third annual Addicted to Music concert at 6 p.m. on April 9.

The concert will take place on the corner of 13th Street and Fee Lane, south of McNutt Quad. Headliner State Radio will perform as a part of its “State of Troy” tour.
In addition, fans can vote for local opening acts listed on the concert’s website,www.areyouaddicted.org.

The top three bands with the most votes will compete March 27 at Max’s Place.

State Radio has a history of working with philanthropic organizations. Singer and guitarist Chad Stokes Urmston co-founded the organization Counting All Crows, which advocates for women’s rights.

The concert is to promote awareness of substance addiction as a disease and the numerous resources that people can use for recovery. The concert is free to the public, but donations are encouraged.

The public can donate at the concert’s website or at the concert. There will also be merchandise available for purchase. The proceeds will benefit Amethyst House and IU’s Alcohol and Drug Information Center.
