How they fared: IU junior Evgeniya Vertesheva defeated No. 63 Sam Critser for the Hoosiers’ lone point in a 6-1 loss to No. 5 Michigan. The Wolverines took all three doubles matches and the other five singles matches for the win.
Against Michigan State, IU lost the doubles point and singles matches at the top three positions, falling 4-3 to the Spartans.
They said it: “We are having trouble getting consistency out of any position,” IU coach Lin Loring said. “We have yet to have everyone play up to their ability on the road. We are a good team when we all show up healthy and ready to play.”
