Outdoor season kicks off at Stanford Invitational

This week: Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif.

Look ahead: The IU track and field team will kick off the 2011 outdoor season this weekend. The Hoosier men are led by junior Derek Drouin, a three-time NCAA high jump champion. He will be joined by six other first team All-American honorees: Andy Bayer, Kind Butler, Joe Holahan, Andrew Poore, Danny Stockberger and Chris Vaughn.

The Hoosier women will be led this season by Faith Sherrill, the only first team All-American on the women’s side. Sherrill finished fourth this past weekend at the indoor championships with a throw of 56.05 feet.
