Flame to light up Kinsey Hollow

IU student groups Campus Crusade for Christ, The Impact Movement, ONELife  and IU Student Association present Grammy–nominated Christian hip-hop artist Flame, who will perform for Little 500 weekend.

Campus Crusade for Christ, also known as Cru, scheduled a weekend of events that began with their annual picnic Thursday and continues at 7 p.m. today with Flame and opening act Nue Breed at Kinsey Hollow, located behind Forest Quad. Admission is free.

Flame, also known as Marcus Gray, is a St. Louis native who was living a troubled life until a near-fatal car accident and the death of his grandmother turned him around. His raps, which he wrote as personal devotionals, caught the attention of Cross Movement Records. He released his debut album in 2004.

His newest album, “Captured,” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Gospel and at No. 5 on Billboard Christian charts. He is also currently working on his master’s degree in biblical counseling.
