Rapparoo was officially canceled after the Friday arrest of headliner Gucci Mane, who is dealing with legal issues in Georgia stemming from a misdemeanor charge of battery and violating his parole.
At 6:14 p.m. Monday, Gold Nugget Entertainment posted on its Twitter that Rapparoo featuring Gucci Mane, Lloyd Banks, Gorilla Zoe and Project Pat had been cancelled due to the rapper’s recent arrest.
Gold Nugget Entertainment owner John Bradford confirmed the details.
“I’m sure all three (Banks, Zoe and Project Pat) could do a great job without Gucci, but with the disappointment of Gucci, people might not consider attending,” Bradford said.
Bradford said a little more than 500 tickets were sold for the show Thursday. He said concertgoers will be fully refunded via www.ticketleap.com by the end of the week.
Gold Nugget Entertainment was still hopeful Sunday as Bradford had confirmed with the Indiana Daily Student that Rapparoo would continue as planned. However, by Monday evening, it became clear the festival would not be able to go on.
“I’m disappointed, too. I am sorry if I had let anyone down, it wasn’t my intention,” Bradford said. “It’s just that the Gucci arrest was detrimental.”
The rapper allegedly pushed a female victim out of his moving Hummer in January. He was arrested Friday when he went to his routine parole officer visitation.
