Four IU athletes named Academic All-Americans

Just after sophomore Andy Bayer was named an Academic All-American in men’s track and field/cross country, four IU female athletes received the same honor.

Seniors Vera Neuenswander was named to the first team, Faith Sherrill on the second team and Sarah Pease on the third team. Junior Chelsea Blanchard was also named to the third team. It is Neuenswander’s second time as an Academic All-American.

It is the first time in IU athletics history that four athletes from the same sport have been named in the same season. Pease, Sherill and Neuenswander have already graduated.

Pease has a degree in human biology with a 3.68 grade-point average, Sherill in elementary education with a 3.59 GPA and Neuenswander in social studies education with a perfect 4.0. Blanchard is majoring in visual arts education and has a 3.97 GPA.
