Paul Menard wins Brickyard 400

Paul Menard took the checkered flag in his first Brickyard 400 win Sunday.

Menard, who started 15th, beat out Jeff Gordon in a sprint to the finish.Kasey Kahne led the most laps in the race with 48 followed by Gordon with 36 and Menard with 21. Kahne finished 18th and polesitter David Ragan was 23rd.

The victory is not only Menard’s first this season, but the first of his career at the Sprint Cup level. It was his fourth top five finish of the 2011 season.
