IU wins 38-21 against South Carolina State

IU vs. South Carolina State

In a game characterized by penalties and miscues, IU earned its first win of the season and the Kevin Wilson era, beating South Carolina State 38-21.

IU set a school record for penalties with 17, but commanded the game with a running game that came alive. The Hoosiers rushed for 258 yards, including 102 from freshman Bloomington native D’Angelo Roberts.

Redshirt sophomore quarterback Edward Wright-Baker threw 21 completions for 273 yards and two touchdowns. Fellow redshirt sophomore Dusty Kiel also got limited work in the second half, completing four of his six passes.

Sophomore Duwyce Wilson made multiple highlight-reel catches, one of which resulted in a touchdown. He had 101 receiving yards. Fellow sophomore wide receiver Kofi Hughes had 92 all-purpose yards, including a 40-yard touchdown reception.
