Result:
No. 22 Michigan swept IU on Saturday for IU’s 14th consecutive loss.
The Action:
Graduate student right-side hitter Kristen Seaton led the cream and crimson with eight kills in the loss to the Wolverines.
In the last two weeks, Seaton has stepped up her play, starting the last three matches, her first three Big Ten starts. During the last four matches, Seaton has had 36 kills, coming off the bench to record 11 kills at Purdue on Oct. 19th.
IU Coach Sherry Dunbar said Seaton, who has battled through multiple knee injuries throughout her career, has benefitted from starting because she no longer has to deal with the long down periods between warm-ups and playing time.
Middle blockers freshman Morgan Leach and junior Samantha Thrower both added five kills. Leach led the Hoosiers with four blocks.
Quote of Note:
“Our outside hitters did not do a good job,” Dunbar said. “I just don’t think they found ways to get kills. The blocking did a good job against them, but if one of them could have stepped up, we were right there.”
Notable Number:
.064 — IU’s hitting percentage against the Wolverines.
