Kappa Kappa Gamma is providing students with a new way to take a break from midterms with a free Zumba class open to all IU students and faculty at 7 p.m..
The event is sponsored by Emma Graham Designs and the IU Bookstore.
“Midterms week is so stressful for students, so the class is intended to be a way for students to let go of their stressors and enjoy an hour of a fun workout followed by a shopping event,” said Natalie Birzer, a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma.
Both companies claim to promote a healthy and active lifestyle for students.
This is why the recent exercise trend of Zumba was chosen to merge the two companies together, said Sally Roesner, a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma and a design consultant for Emma Graham Designs.
After the class, participants will be able to browse the clothes from Emma Graham at the trunk show.
Participants will also receive a discount to be used at the show or at a later date online.
Finally, there will be an Emma Graham raffle of promotional items as well as larger prizes.
“Zumba is a fun class for a large group of people to participate in,” Roesner said. “It’s a fun way to bring together the IU community and introduce them to our companies and what they offer to IU students.”
