Senior Brenna Moeljadi of the IU field hockey team was chosen to play in the 2011 National Field Hockey Coaches Association’s Senior All-Star game. The forward will suit up at 3 p.m. Nov. 19 in Louisville, Ky.
Moeljadi has been a major key to success this season for the Hoosiers. She ranks highly in Big Ten stats, being in the top 10 for points (seventh with 25), shots (10th with 48), defensive saves (second with four) and assists (eighth with seven).
Earlier this season, Moeljadi earned two Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week awards when she set the record for most career defensive saves by a Hoosier.
Moeljadi becomes the 11th Hoosier to play in the All-Star game. She is one of three Big Ten players selected this season.
She will play with 37 seniors from across the country in four 25-minute pieces with the United States Women’s National Team.
Moeljadi will have to lead the team to the Big Ten Championship game to have any hope of making the 16-team NCAA tournament. The Hoosiers begin the tournament Thursday, in State College, Pa. against Iowa.
