Timely 3-pointers by Michigan guards Tim Hardaway, Jr. and Stu Douglass proved to the be the difference in Ann Arbor, Mich., as No. 22/23 Michigan (17-6, 7-3) defeated No. 20 Indiana (17-6, 5-6) 60-54.
IU began to make its push with 7:12 to play in the first half as the Hoosiers held Michigan to just five points the rest of the half.
The Hoosiers got to within two in the second half before Hardaway, Jr. and Douglass hit the daggers.
Junior guard Jordan Hulls led the Hoosiers with 18 points and was forced to handle a majority of the ball-handling duties in the second half after senior guard Verdell Jones III did not return to the game with an apparent shoulder injury.
