Artist deadline approaches for Arts Fair on the Square

The deadline for artists to apply for the 32nd Annual Arts Fair on the Square is April 2.

The Arts Fair will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. June 23 and aims to “showcase fine art and craft to the highest quality, connect artists with the art-buying community and promote commitment to the arts through a variety of interactive experiences,” according to a press release.

Artists from across the country are invited to apply to participate in the fair, but only 65 will be accepted. For more information on application guidelines, visit artsfair.org.

For the second year, the Arts Fair is sponsored by the Bloomington Playwrights Project. Last year, the organization increased its marketing budget by more than 700 percent, allowing expanded advertising and increased artist space.

Arts Fair on the Square partners with Taste of Bloomington to offer samples from more than 35 local restaurants in addition to dozens of art stands and music performances.

Applications can be submitted through ZAPP at ZAPPlication.org or mailed or delivered to the Bloomington Playwrights Project at 107 W. 9th St.

Jury review will take place from April 9 to 20, and results will be emailed by May 1.
