Whatever woes IU has seen in the last three years of this rivalry haven’t shown tonight.

The IU men’s basketball team leads Purdue 49-34 at the half on senior night at Assembly Hall.

On senior night, a senior has risen to the occasion. Senior guard Matt Roth knocked down three 3-pointers in the first half. Sophomore Will Sheehey has also added to IU’s long-range attack and leads the Hoosiers with 11 points.

Despite his 0-for-7 performance in IU’s 78-61 on Feb. 4 in West Lafayette, Ind., junior forward Christian Watford has filled the stat sheet with seven points, four rebounds and two assists.

Purdue senior forward Robbie Hummel leads the Boilermakers with nine points.

The Boilermakers have struggled from the floor having shot 36 percent (12-of-33) while IU has shot 66 percent (20-of-30) including 57 percent (8-of-14) from three-point range.
