After starting its spring slate with a record of 1-1-1, the IU men’s soccer team will face an opponent Friday that hasn’t lost a game in almost 17 months.
IU’s adversary Lindsey Wilson College finished the 2011 regular season with a record of 15-0, giving up only six goals. Four players scored double-digit goals during the season.
Lindsey Wilson went on to win the Mid-South Conference postseason title and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics championship in December.
The Hoosiers will attempt to keep up with the Blue Raiders, who scored 77 goals this past season but only gave up 12, without one of their most reliable goal scorers.
IU sophomore Nikita Kotlov, who scored nine goals in 20 games in the fall, fractured his foot earlier this week in practice and is set to have surgery Friday.
This game will mark the last of a three-game home stand for IU before it travels to Notre Dame and then plays the U-20 Mexican National team at the end of April in Bloomington.
Indiana and Lindsey Wilson will square off at 8 p.m. Friday on Jerry Yeagley Field at Bill Armstrong Stadium.
