Spring season continues against Notre Dame for men's soccer team

After beginning its spring slate of games with a 2-1-1 record, the IU men’s soccer team will take on its second in-state opponent of the season Saturday when the Hoosiers travel to Fort Wayne to take part in the National Soccer Festival.

Indiana began its fall schedule last season in taking on the Fighting Irish in South Bend, finishing the game in a 0-0 tie.

After two overtime periods, both teams had recorded five shots on goal, but the teams, which were both ranked in the top 20 in the country at the time, failed to find the back of the net.

The Hoosiers played both of their fall preseason games in the Shindigz National Soccer Festival in August, during which they faced both Duke and Xavier.

After a 1-1 tie in its first game against the Blue Devils, IU failed to score against the Musketeers, falling to Xavier in a 1-0 loss. They left Fort Wayne with a 0-1-1 preseason record.

Indiana and Notre Dame will play at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Parkview Field.
