GLOWfest concert announced for Sept.

Sigma Phi Epsilon and the Business Careers in Entertainment Club will present this year’s GLOWfest on Sept. 14 at the Tailgate Fields on 14th Street and Woodlawn Avenue.

Ticket prices are expected to be released in the next few days with an artist announcement sometime after, Sig Ep Vice President of Programming Steven Brisley and Major Events Chairman Paul Gillette said.

Brisley is working with GLOWfest to market the event. Gillette said he is working out the logistics with the University to ensure the concert is in accordance with University policies.

GLOWfest is a college music festival that works with student entrepreneurs to bring music, philanthropy and culture to campuses nationwide, according to their official Facebook page.

Gillette and Brisley said they want the concert to benefit both the students and the community. They are working with Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County to find the best way to benefit the charity. A certain percentage of ticket sales may be donated to the organization.

Deadmau5 headlined last year’s GLOWfest concert on Oct. 19, 2011. Originally scheduled to take place at Pic-a-chic Farms, inclement weather and safety concerns forced the concert to be rescheduled to later that evening at Bluebird Nightclub. Gillette said a contingency plan is in the works in case a similar situation happens this year.

Ticket prices and performers will be announced on glowfesttour.com and the Facebook event “GLOWFEST Indiana University Sept. 14.”
