Iowa Western Community College defensive tackle Jordan Heiderman committed to IU on Tuesday, becoming the 10th commitment for IU’s 2013 recruiting class.
A 6-foot-3-inch, 280-pound sophomore at Iowa Western, Heiderman is the second junior college commit in his class and the second defensive tackle.
With IU losing four defensive tackles to graduation after this season, including two starters, he will have the opportunity to earn significant playing time his first season.
IU was the only school to offer him a scholarship, though other schools including Iowa and Iowa State had shown interest in
recruiting him.
A 2010 high school graduate, Heiderman redshirted his first season at Iowa Western and will have two years of eligibility remaining when he arrives in Bloomington in January.
