Dinosaur Jr., Shearwater play at Bluebird

Alternative rock band Dinosaur Jr. played at The Bluebird Nightclub on Monday night.

The band was formed in Amherst, Mass., in 1984. They were originally called Dinosaur but were forced to change their name when legal issues arose.

The group disbanded in 1997, reuniting once more in 2005. They recently released a new album, “I Bet On Sky,” their third album since the original lineup of J Mascis, Lou Barlow and Murph reunited.

Shearwater, an American indie rock band, performed with Dinosaur Jr. The band was formed in 1999 in Austin, Texas, by Okkervil River members Jonathan Meiburg and Will Sheff. Sheff is no longer with Shearwater.
