Security officials discuss careers

Members of various law enforcement and security agencies will assist students with career planning at the Law Enforcement and Security Networking Night from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. today at DeVault Alumni Center.

The event is one of the networking nights organized by the Career Development Center and the IU Student Alumni Association.

“The purpose of our Networking Nights series, in general, is to allow students to refine their networking skills as well as learn about their fields of interest,” Elizabeth Hollon, intern for the Career Development Center, said in an email.

Guest speakers will represent various agencies, including the IU Police Department and the Superior Court Probation Department of Marion County, Ind.

Holland said the event is great for juniors and seniors searching  for jobs.

“Students who have any interest at all in either government or law enforcement can attend the Law Enforcement and Security Networking Night to learn more about opportunities in the field,” Hollon said. “Students interested in either law enforcement or security may not get the opportunity to attend an event that is this tailored to their interests.”

IUCDC and IUSAA ask that students RSVP for the event using their myIUcareers accounts, which can be found at iucareers.com.
