Keith Holz, associate professor of art history at Western Illinois University, will give a lecture coordinated with the exhibit “Pioneers and Exiles: German Expressionism at the IU Art Museum.” Holz will discuss four paintings by Austrian expressionist Oskar Kokoschka. A reception will follow at 8:30 p.m. at the IU Art Museum.

Ivy Tech John Waldron Arts Center

Cardinal Stage Company’s newest production began last Friday and will run through Nov. 18. Adapted from Aldred Hitchcock’s 1935 film of the same name and inspired by Monty Python, the play follows the story of Richard Hannay as he tries to solve a riddle. Tickets range from $10 to $28.50 for evening shows. They can be purchased online at Cardinal Stage Company’s website, cardinalstage.org.

Scholars on Henry Hope, Paul Sachs and Herman B Wells will give four guest lectures about the connection between these men, art at IU and the University in general.
Lectures will include “Paul Sachs and the Modern Art Museum” by David Alan Brown, curator of Italian paintings at the National Gallery of Art, and “Creating a Cultural Landscape: Herman B Wells and the Cultivation of the Creative Arts” by James Capshew, associate professor in the Department of History and Philosophy of Science. A reception will follow at the IU Art Museum.

“The Rimers of Eldritch”

Nov. 9, 10 and 14-17

The newest Ivy Tech student production, “The Rimers of Eldritch,” opens at 7:30 p.m. Friday. The play was written by Landford Wilson and directed by Paul Daily. General admission tickets cost $15 or $5 for students and seniors. Tickets can be purchased in person at the BCT Box Office or bctboxoffice.com.
