After a slow start in the game’s opening minutes, followed by a poor half of shooting, the IU men’s basketball team finds itself up 48-33 against Jacksonville at the end of the first half.
IU ended the half shooting 47.2 percent from the floor (17-of-36), but players other than guards senior Jordan Hulls and junior Victor Oladipo shot just 8-of-24 in the first 20 minutes.
The Hoosiers missed their first four shots from the floor until Hulls’ first 3-pointer of the night broke an early 5-0 Jacksonville run. From there, with the help of early foul trouble from the Dolphins, and a string of Hulls 3-pointers, the Hoosiers quickly pulled ahead and ended the half on a 27-16 run.
Hulls leads the Hoosiers in scoring with 17 points off of 5-of-7 shooting from beyond the arc. Oladipo was also 2-of-3 from long range in the first half and is the only other Hoosier in double figures with 10 points.
