The world lost a trustworthy friend Thursday.
Pauline Phillips, author of the famous “Dear Abby” advice column, died at 94 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Known under the pen name “Abigail Van Buren,” or “Abby,” Phillips wrote insightful columns to Americans in need beginning in 1956.
Her daughter, Jeanne Phillips, plans to continue the column in her honor.
