After the first 20 minutes in the battle for sole possession of first place in the Big Ten, the IU men's basketball team holds a narrow lead against Wisconsin 32-31.
Junior guard Victor Oladipo started the Hoosiers off with a quick 3-pointer early, but the slow, methodical play of the Badgers slowed the game down to a pace IU hasn't been accustomed to playing so far this season.
Yet, even with the slower pace of play, Wisconsin couldn't find an answer for the preseason Big Ten Player of the Year, sophomore forward Cody Zeller.
He finished the half with 18 of IU's 32 points as he was able to relentlessly drive through the lane to the bucket or was the recipient of the extra pass that found him open under the hoop.
Zeller shot 8-for-8 from the floor in the first half along with 2-for-3 from the free throw line.
After 20 minutes, he was the only player in the game with more than six points. Oladipo followed with five points, Hulls dished in four, and senior forward Christian Watford scored just three with a late 3-pointer that gave the Hoosiers the lead heading into the locker room.
