Four-star wide receiver Taj Williams, a high school senior from Tallahassee, Fla., has committed to IU, becoming the 23rd member of the Hoosiers’ 2013 class.
“Yes I have committed to Indiana,” Williams said Monday night. “I will be signing sometime this week.”
Williams is ranked as the 214th-best prospect in the nation according to Rivals.com, and he is the fifth four-star commitment in the Hoosiers’ class. Should he sign, Williams will become the highest-rated recruit to ever file a National Letter of Intent to play college football for IU.
Before deciding to commit after a visit to Bloomington this past weekend, Williams had received scholarship offers from a plethora of Division I universities including USC, Florida, Alabama and Miami.
However, he did not sign with a school on National Signing Day and kept his recruitment open until Monday. He is expected to qualify academically and play for IU this fall.
