IU to finish regular season with 3 matches in 3 days

The IU men’s tennis team will face Illinois on Friday, followed by matches against Northwestern on Sunday morning and Vincennes Sunday night.

Before last weekend’s competitions, IU Coach Randy Bloemendaal said if the Hoosiers played well, then they could  potentially be in the top two teams coming out of this weekend.

However, IU spilt last weekend going 1-1, winning against Wisconsin but losing to Minnesota.

IU is currently ranked fourth in the Big Ten Conference behind Ohio State, Michigan and Minnesota.

Illinois shares IU’s conference record of 6-3, so this head-to-head match will determine if the Hoosiers stay ahead of the Illini or not.

Northwestern is currently No. 7 in the Big Ten standings with a 4-5 conference record. The Big Ten Tournament is right around the corner, as Vincennes will be IU’s last competition before it starts.

For now, though, Bloemendaal and the rest of the team is focused on Illinois.
