The Big Ten announced Wednesday afternoon that IU senior golfer Brant Peaper had been named First Team All-Big Ten.

He is the third men’s golfer to be named to the first team in the past two seasons.
Junior David Mills was named to the first team last year, and Chase Wright, who graduated in 2012, won the honor during his senior year. Peaper is IU’s 12th First Team All-Big Ten selection since 2002.

Peaper has shot a 73.15 average this season, which makes him 20th on the single season all-time scoring list at IU.

Early in the season in September, Peaper won the Wolf Run Intercollegiate. Later that week, he won his first Big Ten Golfer of the Week award.

This spring, Peaper has finished second in both the Mission Inn Spring Spectacular and the NYX Hoosier Invitational. He won his second Big Ten Golfer of the Week award after the Mission Spring Spectacular.

Last week, Peaper shot a 68 in the second round of the Big Ten Tournament, which was the best round of the entire tournament. He finished the tournament tied for 17th.
