Ferrell, Sheehey invited to national training camp

A pair of Hoosiers are among 29 players invited by USA Basketball to a training camp for the World University Games.

Sophomore guard Kevin "Yogi" Ferrell and senior forward Will Sheehey will attend the camp, to be held June 24-30 in Colorado Springs, Colo., in hopes of becoming the ninth and 10th Hoosiers to represent the U.S. in basketball at the World University Games.

The last to do so was Brian Evans in 1995.

“The committee has assembled one of the strongest World University Games training camp rosters USA Basketball has ever had,” said Jim Boeheim, Syracuse Coach and chair of the USA Men’s Junior National Team Committee.

“It includes some of the top players in college basketball, several of whom have international experience," he said. "Selecting the players for the final roster is going to be a real challenge.”
